Most do Glitter, just the odd one might be a bit funny. Ignore them, there are plenty who'd be grateful for your help and knowledge.

There was a thread on here just over two hours ago asking for census lookups. I asked a lot of questions as there was not a lot of info given to find the correct families in the location that was suggested. Come back on site and the thread has already gone. Do members want help or not? Maureen

Unfortunately Rebekah I seem to find the majority of 'bad' members who do not go back to their threads or like this one delete very quickly. Maureen

No, PLEASE don't give up! I've seen your name on here, helping lots of people, who, like me when I started, don't know how to do it. And unfortunately some don't understand how the 'system' works. Or think all the help is from people employed by GR (har! har!, some chance!). I know how frustrating it can be - I'd seen a familar family name on the 'trying to find' board, admittedly from ages ago, but thought I'd picked up enough knowledge to try to help. Asked some info, found out quite a bit, passed it on - nothing since then! Not - 'thanks'. Not even -'thanks for trying, but wrong family'! But don't let a few spoil it for you. MOST people appreciate it. Bx

i know what your saying. but i for 1 cant sit at the pc all the time. i have made posts asking for help and then had to go to sort out my kids or cook tea etc. i do eventually get back to the post but it may be an hour or so later.

There is a glut of ill-mannered people on the boards at the moment..........I've lost count of those who fail to include the word 'please' in their requests. This has the effect of making them look like demands.........and I, for one, usually ignore them. Reg

Y M.......... A brief delay isn't the problem...........it's the ones who delete before acknowledging............or simply don't acknowledge at all............ who are the offenders. Reg

Hello Maureen You do give a lot of help to people on here,so please dont give up. Reggie What you say is sadly very true and has happened to me countless times. I find it so sad that people can't be bothered to say please or thank you. Kindest regards Maureen
