I agree with Ivy It means the person had a private income and therefore was not financially dependant on the head of house (If they were living with family or 'boarding' ) or receiving relief through the parish. Chris |

I recall also seeing Bondholder against another person's entry. I've assumed that this meant that they were living off the income from the bond/fund (as annuitants). |

I found this in one of the census....Mary Webster, and in the occupation/profession column she is down as 'FUNDHOLDER'....does this mean she owned the house???? Thanks Kathlyn |
