Hi, trying to find any connections possible with my Dad's family. His father was born in Bigbury - Sub-district of Modbury County of Devon in 1900, John henry pengelly to John William Wilson Pengelly + Annie Elizaebth - formerly Brennan. Can't seem to find anything about my grandads family at all. He ran away to the navy when only young boy and was there a good part of his early years. he was known as 'Jack' and family was from around Buckland Monochorum area?? Any help ot tips anyone could give me would be appreciatd - I've bought credits to look at documents but can't work out best way to use them so blown them in one night!! ALso joined Ancestory. com and very muddles (which wouldn't be difficult). Pengelly is I know a very common name so hoping someone out there recognises some of our details?? Kind regards Jackie |

Hi Jackie, I've looked on Ancestry and found a John William Pengelly and an Annie Brennan, marriage registered Kingsbridge, Devon, Jan/Feb/Mar quarter 1896, reference 5b 303. This could be them! |

Have you tried searching the free census site? - http://freecen.rootsweb(.)com/cgi/search.pl There are quite a lot of Pengellys. |
