Hi Hoping someone might be able to help please. I have a old photo of a man in uniforn. I can vaguely make out the cap badge, The outside there is a wreath that doesn't meet at the top, then writing which i can't make out at all, in the middle is what looks like the Liverbird Im trying to narrow down who he could be. The photo was taken in Liverpool at Vanderbilt studio. Does anyone know any good sites i can look at, as ive been trawling all day with no luck. Any help is much appricated Julie

The Imperial War Museum might have some info..........obviously not about the man's identity, but they may be able to identify the badge Reg

Don't just concentrate on military badges - the badge seems to be from your description very 'local' to the Liverpool area. Try the old police, fire and civil defence achives also
