I don't know about anyone else, but when I'm researching family members of long ago, I tend to get a rosy picture of them in my minds eye. After speaking to a couple of family members recently that view has cetainly altered. I will try to keep an open mind from now on and remind myself that they were human after all. Carole |

I know - the ancestors I have traced so far seemed to live more colourful lives than the living ones! Some of it has probably been exaggerated over the years, some I have the facts to back up the amazing stories! Sam x |

I know what you mean. When I first started, I had a ' minds eye picture ' of my gt grandfather and had to smile when I looked at a photograph of one of his daughters as an elderly lady and realised that I thought, for a moment, there was no resemblance between them. Tricia |
