I have the original deeds for my house, they have the complete history of the house and even who ownd the land before the house was built. just out of interest i downloaded a copy from the land registry and all i got was the dates and names of the person's that i bought the house from and the owner previous to them, but i have the originals that go back to the early 1900,s so you may not get every thing that you are looking for when you download the (deeds)? It cost me £5 for the title register and the title plan I dont think you can get the full deeds from the land registry http://www.landregisteronline.gov.uk/ Roy

Are you sure they owned it and not rented. The land registry will give you the history of the house and it can be done online . costs tho but dont know how much. Shirley
