I have applied for marriage cert. as listed on Lancashire bmd James Simpson m Elizabeth Yates1879 33/2/368,Christ Church,Bradford Manchester. GRO replied ,James Simpson did not marry Elizabeth Yates etc etc and refunded part of my £7-I'm not bothered about the part refund,but where /what do I look for next? |

This must be the marriage ref you used... Letitia Catherine Cretney 1879 Oct-Nov-Dec Prestwich Lancashire Thomas Denton 1879 Oct-Nov-Dec Prestwich Lancashire James Simpson 1879 Oct-Nov-Dec Prestwich Lancashire Elizabeth Yates 1879 Oct-Nov-Dec Prestwich Lancashire If James Didnt marry Elizabeth, he must have married Letitia, and Thomas married Elizabeth |

scarlet-I'm absolutely sure that James married Elizabeth Yates as her sisters were living with them on 1881 census,Fanny and Mary Yates Thanks for checking-thought I was going more crazy than usual! Lynne-so gro could have wrong information? I will certainly try local ro-never thought of that,many thanks |
