Hi everyone, i know i could probably find what i want by sending for certs but i just dont have the money at the moment also not sure where to get it from as i dont know a place of birth, so if anyone can find any info it would be great.... I have tried to find any info on my nan (Cathrine) dob 4 June 1938, died May 2002 at St Helens, Mersyside. Her married name was Mudge, married abt 1958 Q2, but can't find her anywhere as i dont know her maiden name and have no idea of her parents names. Thank you for reading this. Denise. |

Denise what was your Grandfathers first name/names? I think the only way you are going to get anywhere with this is to find their marriage on the full index and send for the certificate. I know you say you cannot afford certificates and I know what that is like but if you can send for just this one it will give you your Grandmother's maiden name plus both your Grandmother's and Grandfather's Father's names. You will then be able to find your Grandmother's birth and possibly more information on her parents. Christine |

Hi Denise, There were 2 'Mudge' marriages in Q2 of 1958, but only 1 with a Catherine:- Vincent B. Mudge to Catherine Rogan in Liverpool S. District, Ref:- 10d 815. So I then checked to see if Catherine Rogan was born in 1938. There is a Catherine Rogan born in Q2 1938 in the Liverpool N District, Ref: 8b 942, with a Mother's maiden name of Hallahan. Do any of these names tie up with any information you have from your family? It may be foolish to just accept the above without sending for certificates to confirm. You may find the certificates for free on the BMDshare website; worth a try! Hope this helps, but wouldn't work on this without other back-up to confirm first. Susan |

Yes your info sounds right, Rogan came up before but my grandads mothers maiden name was Grogan so i just thought it was some sort of mix up with spellings. i dont know how you do it i search for ages but never find anything i am looking for. Thank you, Denise |
