trying to find irish roots

Im afraid its unlikely you will be able to do so. If you enter the word 'Irish' in the search box at the top of this page it will bring up lots of threads to help you with Irish research. Im glad to say only my hubbys side have Irish roots - I think Id have gone crazy if my own line was Irish as the records are so poor. With hubbys lot they moved to Liverpool and throughout the census only ever shown as born 'Ireland'. I take it you have checked every census for them as sometimes they add further details. I then found hubbys GGFx2 was in the navy and from that got his record downloaded from National Archives which gave his personal details and description and included the fact he came from Queenstown County Cork. I am stymied for any details earlier than that though.

ive been searching my family history for ages now and have managed to trace my gggggrandparents to ireland. they moved to scotland after 1841. how can i trace there journey to scotland and where abouts in ireland they came from
