Can anyone advise me how to trace family from pola

My grandad was from poland and came over to England just after the ww2. I have my grandad's father's name but i do not know how to trace the records in Poland. Anyone have any idea how i can do this? |

There might be something here to help. http://www.polishroots.org/genpoland/index.htm As I understand it, there is no central record office and you need to know the area of origin. We need a place of birth for someone from Poland who settled in England after the war and bought a death certificate. Unfortunately it just showed ..Poland.. as birthplace. We had better luck with a service record for his time served in the army. Gwyn |
