Have just found that my gt uncle was cremated...... in 1972, and crem can't give me any details of address's etc. They did say he was a widow and it was a niece that arranged it all...I know the niece isn't form my side so must be his wifes family. I have the name but what is the next step, is there a way of finding out where he lived. Sorry to ask these...... any help would be grateful Pat |

Pat have you got a copy of his death certificate? The person who organised his cremation may have also notified his death & her name & address should be on the certificate. Georgina. |

If he left a Will it will be available to you to buy a copy or his death certificate will give his address and that of the informant. Gwyn |

I have paid for several burial records from the cemetery in which my relatives were buried. These give when and where they died, how much it cost to bury and who actually paid for the funeral. Not sure though if it is the same for cremation, worth asking. Marilyn |

The address on any Will would be as it was when the Will was made.........not necessarily the same as the address at which he died. Reg |

You're right about the address on the Will. I was thinking of that line of searching incase the death certificate had a coroner or such as the informant. ...Hopefully the Will would name the niece or other relatives. Gwyn |
