My aunt (Margaret Buckle) is reputed to have been a member of the Queen Alexandra's Army Nursing Service in WW I. National Archives in one place says 'arranged in alphabetical order' but I think this only refers to all subjects covered by WO 399 and not the nurses names. Can anyone help please?

There is apparently an alpahabetical list of nurses names within WO399 - 15000 nurses are in this series.

Thanks Ann but how do you reach the list? As you can see I found the reference but no way could I find the actual names. Clive

I think you'd have to go to Kew, or get a researcher to do it for you. You could email them to see if they'd search and send a copy - they might!
