if you go to www.freebmd.org.uk you can search all the transcribed BMD documents for free. u cant see the actual specific certificate but the site allows u to see the results for each year in each calender section. the site promises to stay free and is very useful to check the information you have already- it also gives details about the entries which make buying new certificates very easy. hope you find this site useful |

Anne If you buy the certificates from the local register office (from The place were the births marriages and deaths were actually registered) they will check the information you have given them against the certificate and if it is wrong they will contact you to discuss the problem. If you then decide that they are not your relatives and don't want the certificate they will send your cheques back. Remember that you must send a new cheque for each certificate ordered. for example if you want 3 certificates you must send three cheques. Jane |

There is also a site called bmdshare.com where people put all the details of any certs they may have. It is still in it's early stages but you might find something useful on there. Vicky |

I wish there was Anne we would all save a lot of money where we have bought the wrong ones. There are some birth details on Family Search that may help you. Good luck Irene |
