I have just used a much used parish record disc that I have. When you open it, there are 3 folders, one for Baptisms, one for Marriages, and one for Burials. Today, I can't open the marriages folder on my pc, it says the folder is empty!!!!! Quelle horreur! But when I tried it on the laptop, it's ok. Back to the pc, empty. Can anyone tell my why this may be, and how to fix the problem? Thanks in advance. Debs

The easy way out of this probably is to copy on your laptop to a flash memory and then from the flash memory to your PC. It might be a question of alignment of the reading head. You might even read direct from the flash memory! Flash memory will plug into a USB port normally. Or perhaps you have a system for plugging a camera card into your lap top via some other port?

Hi Margaret, Thanks for your reply. Have a couple of PM's, apparently I may have deleted my pc file? Goodness knows how I've done this. Susan & Clive, Thank you for your PM's. Have replied the same way. Many thanks Debbie
