Reg, i know Alice 'married' cousin James Pithers, but can find no reference for it, James had been married previously, so thats probably why. Mary Ann is with brother George in 1901 as 'Polly' and is unmarried. Edward, i can only find in 1881 and William i haven't found him after 1871. I take into account that the name could have been badly mistranscribed, but still can't find them. I might check through the death records to see if there is any sign of deaths. The only reason i really want to find the siblings is because im hoping they may be with other cousins/uncles/aunts etc, giving me more of a clue to the extended family. Liz

I see that William and Rachel married after Mary's birth........might she have reverted to MMN after Rachel's death? No.......checked her birth - she's registered as Pethers........ Reg

The other 'children' ( with possible exception of Alice) could well have been married by 1881..have you checked marriage records? Also possible is that one or more of them died.......unless you have sighting of them in later years Reg

I have the Pethers/Pithers family in 1871, but am having some trouble finding some of them again in 1881. In 1871 i've got William Pethers born 1835, Kensington with wife Rachel (died 1872) and children all born Kensington Mary Ann (1860), William (1862), Edward (1864), Alice (1866) and George (could someone post this reference for me?). In 1881 i have found William with new 'wife' Eliza and youngest son George but no sign of the other children. I think ive found Edward on a fishing vessel, but can find no sign of his siblings. Thanks for any help, Liz
