Thanks, Roy. My husband's 6Ggrandfather came from there - James Ward b c1795. Not one of yours is he?

Yes it was part of Derbyshire, one line of my family came from that area going back to 1700's the county boundries have changed several times over the years Roy

It is between Dronfield and Sheffield where the A61 meets the A6102 I think it is shown as south yorkshire now on upto date maps Roy

Does anyone know where this is? I can't find it on any map and have googled it but still can't find it. I'm hoping it could be King's Norton. I have found an ancestor on IGI who was born in Norton, Derby. Sandy
