Hi, In 1891 my family lived in Linthorpe Road. In 1901 they lived in Crescent Road. Just vaguely perhaps maybe the family was part of the building mob that built Crescent Road. I had not previously noticed they had changed address. Does anybody know the dates for Crescent Road please? Clive |

I can't answer you myself, but this is the address and telephone number for the Post Office in Crescent Road. I would think the post office might know how long the road had been in existance. Crescent Road Post Office _ 117-119 Crescent Rd Middlesbrough, TS1 4QS 01642 819744 Kath. x |

I have some old maps of Middlesbrough and I can't see it on 1875 map but it is on 1882 map but doesn't appear to have been built on yet. The info I have seems to suggest that this area may have been built on after 1896 after iron trade depression. Elaine |

Thanks Reg and Elaine. Your info ties in with whispers about family strife over the building of new houses. Clive |
