Hi, In 1891 my family lived in Linthorpe Road. In 1901 they lived in Crescent Road. Just vaguely perhaps maybe the family was part of the building mob that built Crescent Road. I had not previously noticed they had changed address. Does anybody know the dates for Crescent Road please? Clive

I can't answer you myself, but this is the address and telephone number for the Post Office in Crescent Road. I would think the post office might know how long the road had been in existance. Crescent Road Post Office _ 117-119 Crescent Rd Middlesbrough, TS1 4QS 01642 819744 Kath. x

I have some old maps of Middlesbrough and I can't see it on 1875 map but it is on 1882 map but doesn't appear to have been built on yet. The info I have seems to suggest that this area may have been built on after 1896 after iron trade depression. Elaine

Thanks Reg and Elaine. Your info ties in with whispers about family strife over the building of new houses. Clive
