Well done, Reg and Jane. I did wonder if that marriage had been mis-transcribed with the William and Harry changed round and you seem to have confirmed this. Thanks very much for finding the birth rec. for Alexander - and his Mum's maiden name, that will help enormously. Your help is much appreciated Barb

Reggie, Harry William or William Harrry married the Elizabeth Kathleen Noke in 1911. They had Alexander Cecil in 1916. There is an E K Noke on 1901 born 1895 Southampton (RG13 Pc 1057 f 19 pg 29), and a birth reg Jan qtr 1895 Southampton (2c 14).....only 16 at marriage...poor girl :0))) Harry William is quite elusive though...more than likely mistranscribed!!

Reg, Mother was the Noke entry. July qtr 1916 birth registered in Southampton of Alexander C Lodwidge mmn Noke.

I have been searching for the birth record of my ex father in law but to no avail - could another pair of eyes try please??? He was Alexander Cecil Lodwidge born 24/05/1916 in Southampton - I am trying to find out who his mother was ,his father was Harry William Lodwidge (b 1891), occ.Stevedore, on marriage cert - but I can't find HIS birth record either!! AARRGGHH! Ta Barb

Can you confirm that you have viewed the images on the FULL bmd records? Not just the freebmd extracts......... And have you looked a couple of years either side of what you think his birth year would have been? All bmd's 1837-2005 are free on Ancestry......... Reg
