I've someone in my tree that is duplicated but I cant seem to delete the duplicate. When I delete the duplicate the original is deleted as well. The duplicate person is the son of a couple and there is a line leading from his Mum with him at the end and then he is connected to his bros and sisters. But then he is also connected to his dad separately. I've no idea whats causing it all which makes it even harder to describe with any accuracy! |

I have. For some reason it knows that it is one person but it shows on the tree twice. So frustrating! |

Why is he connected to a dad separately? I mean is the dad duplicated aswell or are there more than one spouse? |

I would try the Fix Relationship mistakes and complete disconnect him from his parents. have a look at your All In One Tree... it should be OK... albeit he has no parents. If he still has a parent, disconnect again. Then fix relationship mistakes and add him as a child to his parents again |

From what you have said, you haven't got a duplicate at all. Check this by going to the index of individuals and making sure the name only appears the once. What is more likely is that you have created multiple relationships. This is one of the better features of FTM, but it can be annoying if you get it wrong. It sounds that you might have him married to his mother, you can check this by selecting the person then looking at his partners / spouses, then do as Linda suggests and fix the relationship by detaching spouse. Check also that his mum and dad are married, by selecting one of them, the other should appear as parent as well, if not then use attach spouse to connect them together. |
