Luckily for me I can use my local one for this lot :) I've been trying to find these for ages, my parents weren't sure of the surname, I remember meeting this couple (the sister of my grandad and her hubby) when I was very young. Have loads of certs for older ancestors but am now trying to come forward a bit

Well done! You can now send for the cert from GRO online for £7 using the ref you found.

Thanks all, I found my Bullers last night after searching BMDS for hours and hours and hours! Trying to work out wether something was just co incidence or if they are related

Linda marriage indexes after 1912 give the surname of the spouse so if you just look for a Buller's marriage it will have Bolton beside it. Georgina.

I have no idea if he is oldest or not.I'm trying to tie him in with my family. Gordon Richard Bullers April Q 1926 MMN Bolton so do I just search quarters to find a male Bullers and the same ones to find a female Bolton?

You work backwards from the childs birth looking for the marriage. Do you know if the child was the eldest or had older bros and sisters. You could try free bmd first but there is very little there after about 1910. So its ancestry complete bmd index and working backwards through the images looking for the names of the parents. You could try familyrelatives.org - they have name searchable up to 1920 but its pay to view.

Do you know if the child was the oldest? If so the only way to search would be to go page by page on Ancestry looking for the fathers name and mothers maiden name before 1927. Maybe post the details and one of us may be able to help? Liz

I have the birth of a child 1927 and I know his mothers maiden. How do I find his parents marriage?
