There was a woman buried as Selina Perryman in early February 1894. The National Burial Index say she had a funeral service one day in the Congrgation Church and was buried the next in the Stowmarket cemetry. Is there anyone who either knows how to look up the original details (NBI give nothing away) or can check with 'Stowmarket' authorities please. I can not say the co-operation from Suffolk archives overwhelmed with their enthusiasm. Clive |

Frustrating - The Stowmarket council records have almost no data. There was a funeral one day and a burial the next but I have no idea who paid - and more particularly who attended the funeral. Did her daughter make an appearance??? Clive |

Perhaps the death or funeral was reported in local newspapers. The newspapers would be at Ipswich Record Office. Cheers, Horatia |

Thanks for newspaper suggestion. National Burial Index came up with such information that I have. A paid Ipswich researcher only confirmed what I knew. Selena Perryman did not appear on the 1891 census but her husband Edward Perryman (b 1836, Little Bealings, Suffolk) did. Stowmarket cemetry records show her as buried 2/2/1894 by Rev L W Caws. Nasty gossip/rumour suggests that daughter (Elizabeth Charlotte (Bessie) Cattermole) had divorced her mother a few years earlier. Selina Perryman nee Cattermole neglected to marry before having Bessie. Selina's mother had also neglected to marry before having Selina. Clive |
