sometimes people are buried in the same plot without being added to the headstone, you would need to ask at the cemetry office. You would need a death date for your grandfather to make it easier for a cemetry / cremation lookup. Some cemetrys still do it for free, the best thing to do is to phone them & ask as the price varies about £10 sandra

You don't say what year. Is it possible there may have been a cremation instead? I don't know if there are records kept, though I presume there are. If it seems reasonable, geographically speaking that they would be together, that might be one answer. Also, doesn't it need to be a double plot for another person to be buried there?

I know where my gran is buried and I was surprised that her husband who died 5 years later is not buried with her. My uncle doesn't know where he is. How can I find out? I assume it is Liverpool and would I have to pay to find out which cemetery and plot?

maybe he died at a hospital some distance away and was buried there. This happened to my gran, it is very expensive to transport 'a body' and there were family near the hosital where she died so she was buried there Helena
