Jim - Thanks for that. DOB is correct, and a fair few mistakes occur in the census entries, so it could be him. It would be helpful if someone had filled in more details!

Another of my elusive Tufnells. Warning! The name is frequently mistranscribed (Stifnell, Sufnall) and also has various spellings (Tuffnell, Tufnell, Tuffnall, Tufnall). Arthur was born in Kensington Mar qr 1854. I have him on the 1861 and 1871 censuses. I believe he died in Poplar in 1885. The family split up after 1871 when father Benjamin died. Some of the children had already died, and Harriett (given as Benjamin's wife on the 1871 census has disappeared - I couldn't find a marriage record for them. Can anyone locate Arthur in 1881. Probably somewhere in London, although relatives still in Staffs.
