Thanks Clive I thought that people who put their trees on the internet wanted contact with anyone who may have a connection, but it doesn't seem to work that way. Even if you think there may be a connection on Genes, they still don't reply. Obviously haven't got the bug Regards Jo |

I have always found the Ancestry system very difficult. I wish you luck. Clive |

Hi Marie Thanks I have just tried but nothing comes up. It's funny though, I did a search on here for the name and the contacts name has the same initials as the one on ancestry, so I have sent a message through genes asking if they had put the info on Ancestry. I have contacted that person before requesting to see their tree but have had no response, they just say the person I am asking about is the same person as is in my tree and that is all. Hope they respond this time. Thanks Jo |

have you tried ancestry community right hand top box, member connections, view all connections now, but in the name that they have commented on or the other names they have left, search and see if their ancestry member comes up in the list and you can then contact them. Hope you understand what i have said |

Thanks Linda & Marie I hope so too as I seem to be at a dead end for the time being. Just waiting for the chance to get a week off to go to various records offices. Regards Jo |

Hi Linda I left mine public hoping to find some connections, as our names don't come up very often. I would have thought that if this person added comments they would also like to be contacted. I have left another comment on the same person in my tree hoping they will read it and contact me. Jo |

if they left dates etc, you would be able to check the details on ancestry, no idea how you contact people, I have my tree private on there |

I left a comment on someones tree the other day and it left my ancestry name next to it . Does it not allow you to click on the persons name that left the comment to contact them ? |

Hi Marie No it just goes to their profile and won't let me do any more. It is really frustrating as I would like to know the connection of the person and verify that the information is correct. The comment was added to my Nan's sister, so the person would have fairly recent info. Jo |

Hi I wondered if anyone can help me? I have my tree on Ancestry and today someone has left a comment on one of my ancestors giving marriage details, children and death details. This is great but does anyone know how you would contact the person who left the comment. I have tried everything but can't find a way and would like to know where this info came from. Hope someone can help, Thanks Jo |
