I am trying to find the deaths of my great-great-grandfathers who were brothers. They were George Arran Ellis Cole born in 1846 in Norfolk and Arthur Cole born in 1852 in Norfolk. Both of these gentlemen relocated to North Yorkshire and became ironstone miners and they both appear on the 1901 census. I have searched the complete death index on ancestry from 1901 right up until 1955 when Arthur would have been 103 but have been unable to find either of them. I would be very grateful if anyone could suggest where I go from here. Thanks Caz |

There must be 100's of arthur Cole deaths thru the years - how many of them have you eliminated? |

Is this the wife of George Deaths Mar 1906 (>99%) Cole Jemima 57 Middlesbrough 9d 408 You might have to get the marriage certs for the children to see if George or Arthur are shown as deceased. Or possibly the death certs for the wives to see who was the informant. Maureen |

Yes Maureen Jemima was his wife, I have ordered that cert, I think ordering marriage certs for the children might be the only option now as far as George is concerned thanks for your help. Scarlett, you're right there have been loads of Arthur Coles' over the years I have looked for any that would have been around the right age at death just in case he relocated again but with no luck. Thanks both of you for your interest, Caz |

Hi Andrea, I couldn't help myself, I had to go back onto ancestry to see if it was there and I'd missed it. It was there but the age on the image looks like 35 so I had dismissed it. I was beginning to think my eyesight was going lol. Thanks again Caz |
