Could anybody tell me if I order a death cert from a relative who died in 1984 what information I would find on it, parents names ?? I have never seen a death cert.. Many thanks

Alan, Information on a death certificate is usually:- Name of deceased Age of deceased (may be also given as birth year) Place of residence of deceased Date of death Where deceased died Cause of death, plus name of attending physician if applicable Name of person reporting death ....... which may be a relative or not Address of person reporting death Date death was registered. Other information may inlcude fact that a coroner's inquest was held, where and when, and the result of the inquest, plus name of coroner. You have to remember that the information given on a death certificate is usually the least reliable of all certificates .............. because the background information given (age, full names, birth year, etc) may only be hearsay!
