Hi Tara If you look on the Records Office board, for Cherilyn's post, she will do lookups for Victoria (Melbourne), each state keeps its own records separately (bit like England and Scotland). She should be able to find marriages, deaths, but not births. You can also look for yourself on the pay-for-view Vic. BDMs indexes website: http://online.justice.vic.gov.au/servlet/IdxSearch?action=getHistIdxSearchCriteria Sounds like Alan Gordon Birchmore is quite a high profile person in his own way.. Di |

Do you mean that they lived in Australia for that period of time....or that they emmigrated and stayed there, travelling out some time in that time frame? If he died in Australia, I think the death certificate may indicate how many years he had lived there. Our Australian friends on GR may be able to tell you whether this is so. Gwyn |

Tara, just a tip - delete this one and put it over on the Records board with a different heading - something like - Australia Immigrant help please You will then attract people with specialist knowledge and resources. |

Hi can anyone help as i have come across a problem that i am stuck with, A Cecil Gordon Birchmore born 4th quarter 2a - 41- 1911 Epsom Married a Green and had a son called Alan. I was then told that they then moved from England to Australia between the years of 1940 to 1960 ... I know that this is a huge amount of time but i am searching this for my father in law and due to ill health he cannot give me any other information as he just cant remember We do know that he passed away about 10 - 15 years ago. basicly im hoping that someone knows and could find out what year he travelled and the details. A huge thing to ask but i would be truly gratefull .... Thanks in advance Tara |
