Hi Julie I see where your coming from!!!! This family are nearly driving me round the bend. I'm beginning to loose my train of thought!!!!!!!. I can't even find them in 1881 now. Let me start from the beginning As far as I am aware my Grandmother was Mary Atkins born 1881 in Hucknall Nottingham. She died in 1928 when my father was a small child.Aged 47 years. She married my Grand father in 1905 in Nottingham. On their marriage certificate it states her father as Edwin Atkins Coal Miner. I know all the above is correct. So i looked on the 1891 Census and found the family I've listed in my message. I have a marriage certificate for Lily Atkins to Edward Mapletoft. Marriage Certificate states father Edwin Atkins Coal Miner. So I assumed the 1891 Census I have to be correct family. But now I'm working on assumptions only as I cannot find any other information either Marriage or Births or deaths. Any suggestions????????? Cheryl

Hi Cheryl The reason i wondered if it was then cos of what Jeanette said in her 1st post, Edwin would of only been 16 in that marriage to Sarah Heard Julie It also seem strange that they married 14 years before 1st child was born

Hi Julie Don't think that this is my Edwin and Sarah as my Edwin was a Coal Miner not a printer. But thanks for trying, really appreciate it. Cheryl

Hi Julie I haven't been able to find a birth certificate for any of the children. The only things I have are Lily Atkins marriage to Edward Mapletoft. Stating Father as Edwin Atkins Coal Miner. Also Mary Atkins marriage to Henry Foden which states the same. This lot are a real pain!!!!. Mary was my Grandmother but she died when my father was only 7, so I'm not sure about anything really. But you could be on to something. I am going to see again if I can find my Grans Birth Certificate, also send for the other marriage certificate that you found. Thank you for your help Cheryl

Hi Jeanette The Lily Atkins birth that you found is not my Lily Atkins. I sent for that certificate and it was the wrong one. But thanks very much for trying. Cheryl

Don't forget you can select the 1861 census on Ancestry and scroll right down to see how many census pieces are missing. It could be the people you want are on missing pieces. I believe I had thatwith two of the families I was trying to follow. Clive
