Want to find my family in 1861 but they are proving elusive. from 1851 census: husband Thomas Peak c1822 wife Catherine children: Mary b1843, Ann b1846, Thomas b1850 from 1871 census Head Catherine (widow), living with sons Thomas & William b1852 and daughter Anne (married name Woodbridge) & her new family. I have a query about the daughters because grown up married Anne is in 1871 census as b1843 & 1881 census has her as Mary A. b1844. Hoping that 1861 census would help me work out what's what with the daughters' names and also a clue as to when Ann b1846 departed. I also suspect there was another son (Henry b1846) but would need this confirmed on 1861 unless he died before then. I have found a Mary Ann Peak in the 1861 living in service in Islington. This leaves Catherine (possibly already widowed) with Thomas and William to find. I've tried lots of different name variations but can't find them anywhere. They were all born and lived their lives in the St Andrew, Holborn area. If anyone can find them I would be really pleased not to mention amazed. Thanks, Cheryl

Check the missing 1861 census pieces. Bit long winded by on Ancestry select 1861 census, scroll right down and it lists the missing parts. I think you are talking Middlesex and if I remember correctly about half the missing pieces are from - you guessed it - Mddx !! Clive

Catherine was Catherine Peak on the 1851 census and the 1871 census. I've tried looking for Thomas b1850 with mother Catherine and left the surnames off as Thomas was with her 1851 and 1871 but still can't see anything familiar.

Thanks Clive Yes, it is Middlesex. Just goes to show how much sails over my head because I'm on Ancestry quite a bit and there is still much I haven't accessed (mostly because I have to admit I'm not sure what it's about). Thanks again
