I know my great grandad John Lever was a soldier in ww1 but dont know the regiment how do i find out more.

Yes my uncle said he brought his gun home and kept it in a drawer loaded!

Check the national archives medal cards for WW1. You might be lucky and find him there.Good luck Irene
