Thankyou for that.I emailed them but it seems I must get in touch with the corporation of London for records further back than 1945 so I am trying that next.Thanks for the pointer.

Hi lesley Dont know the list of Freemen of London but i have found this website....... http://www.guild-freemen-london*co*uk/freedom.php (Replace stars with dots) Sharmala.

can anyone ell me if there is a list of people who were made freemen of the city of london or how I would find out.many thanks.
