Hi Just a little bit of interesting up to date history for you. If it is your John Parkin then you may be interested to know that the Asylum in Lincoln closed quite recently - within the last 20 or so years. It has been left in tact and reveloped into luxury appartments. It is possible that he was not a 'LUNATIC' as such and may have been disabled as they took in both mental and physically handicapped people. If you would like a photo of whats left of the old building - prior to the refurb - please let me know. regards Jill

You could telephone the Lincoln office, which issues certificates for the whole of Lincolnshire. They take orders over the phone and are very helpful. Certificate Applications, Lincolnshire Registration and Celebratory Service, PO Box 760, Lincoln , LN2 5WG, Phone: 01522 782244 They did a search for my ggmother's death, but telephoned me when they couldn't find her. They seem to go that extra mile which is nice. (I did find that ggm had gone on a trip from the Fens to Nottingham to visit her sister and died in a diabetic coma - no wonder she wasn't found in the county.)

Alison Get the certificate from the local records Office in Lincolnshire. Give them as much details as possible and if they think it is the wrong person they will contact you to see if you want it. If you do not want it they will return the cheque. I have done this lots of times with Lincolnshire record office. Not sure which record office you will need. Give one of them a ring and they will tell you. They are very helpful. All the best Jane

Hi there, Just trying to find the death of a John Parkin who died in the Bracebridge Heath Lunatic Asylum in lincoln. Have found an entry in march quarter in 1914 age about 53 ref 7a 691. But i don't want to order certificate if its not from the lunatic asylum. Any ideas on how i can order it without being charged if its the wrong one. I can't find any more deaths of a john parkin after this date in lincoln. But of course the family could have moved him. Is there anyone that can help. Thanks Allison.
