Wow, well it's certainly not a common surname and mostly in the one place (I wish I had a surname like that to work with), there are only 5 BMD entries come up for Charles Luvate. Three births, a marriage and a death. The last one being born in 1893 and died same year (that is until references in the 1984 -2005 records) Several possibilities: 1) they've not been transcribed yet, which would mean going quarter by quarter on the original images. 2) the name mutated or was misspelt. So try misspellings and wildcards etc. (Luvette, Lavete, Lavet, Luvet, etc) I take it you have this chap already, who I would assume is your 1st Charlie's dad.: Name: Charles Domenic Luvate Year of Registration: 1852 Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar DISTRICT: Preston County: Lancashire Volume: 8e Page: 301 There's a marriage in 1915, which is the last of the searchable indexes 1837-1983 references to a Luvate: Name: Florence Luvate Year of Registration: 1915 Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar Spouse's Surname: Spencer DISTRICT: Preston County: Lancashire Volume: 8e Page: 958 (click to see others on page)

After 1901, the only info is likely to be BMD's..... All are free on Ancestry....just register with the site to gain access to the records. Reg
