I usually put something like weybridge + poor law union into Google which tells me not just about Weybridge but also its surroundings and possibly history. Hope you are not like me - good bit of history and I'm lost for hours! Slows down ancestor research no end. Clive |

This is the webpage that I go to on genuki whenever I want to know which town or village is covered by which registration district: http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/places/ If you click on the link which says Download the Place-Name Index, you'll get a 505 page pdf document with pretty much every inhabited place in England and Wales covered, and the registration districts they were in between 1837 and 1974. It is very useful, and I've saved a copy of the file on my computer as it opens a bit faster that way. :-) Chris P.S. It says that Weybridge was in Chertsey RD up to 1934, and in Surrey North Western thereafter. |
