The fact that you are asking for information about your parents indicates that you are very new to researching your family history. This message is meant to help you not be sarcastic in any way. I think you would be better off doing a bit of groundwork on the basics before you start asking for look ups, one false lead and you could end up researching entirely the wrong people there are lots of websites and books that will give you this basic information on how to carry out your research and I suggest that you take advantage of these resources to give you some understanding of how you can start your reseach before diving in with look ups. Here's one website, http://www.cyndislist*com/beginner.htm replace the * with a dot Do not take any look ups as granted, there are many false leads in this method and remember to verify each look up with some documentary evidence such as a certificate. All B,M,D, records back to 1837 are still in existence and a copy of the relevant certificate can still be obtained, the B,M,D. records can be studied at your local records office. This is only a guess and you would be wise to follow OC's advice. Looking on freebmd, I noted that Horace's birth was registered in Dartford district. Searching for other RANSONs registered there showed some later ones with mother's maiden name HAWTIN. The site shows this possible marriage...... I wonder if the ..T.. is for Thurza, Marriages Dec 1895 Hawtin Jane Rosina T Ipswich 4a 1677 Ranson John Edward Ipswich 4a 1677 This is all speculation. If you look on the freebmd site, you might recognise some of the RANSON names.. http://freebmd.rootsweb.*com/cgi/search.pl Gwyn |

David Something wrong with the dates there! If you get your parents marriage cert, that will give you the name of their fathers, and you can then look for their birth certs, which will give you the names of your grandparents. OC |
