Hi Daniel. Although you would not be able to find the marriage at your local LDS centre (they only have records 1864+), they should be able to order in the Irish 1901 Dublin census films for you. Although you may have to go through several films to find them (if you don't know which parish they lived in), it's certainly worth the effort as I found all mine in the 1901/1911 Cork City census and found siblings of my grandfather whom I did not know existed. Added: Ooops - sorry, probably not around by 1901, and they may have been in Belfast by then, not Dublin. Sorry, I'll have another think. Wendy

I know and just my luck, almost all my family are from ireland lol. All my family are roman catholics and the couple im after were the last protestants of the family before their son changed religion to marry a catholic girl. Danny

If they lived in Ireland, one has to assume they married there.........and Irish records are notoriously sparse. Reg

There not on any census as a couple because they lived in ireland. I have a copy of their sons marriage cert from 1885 belfast which states his dad william as a publican who was deceased. But emerald ancestors also checked the parish register and it stated his mother was ann rice. But iv searched and searched and come up with no marriage for them and figured they may have married elsewhere and have been trying ever since to find any william wilson married to a ann rice between 1840-64 anywhere. Iv been searching this pair for a fair few months now and im determined to find them. If she used her middle name then i she defo went back to her first name because it shows up in a parish register for her sons marriage in belfast in 1885. Danny

Hi Danny That's right - it means the marriage was registered in either October, November or December of that year. Quarter 1 is Jan, Feb, Mar, quarter 2 is Apr, May, Jun and quarter 3 is Jul, Aug, Sept.

MrsBucketBouquet Report 5 Jun 2007 23:04

Daniel Theres 4 quarters to each year.....quarter 4 is when the marriage was registered. Oct,Nov,Dec. Only sending for the cert will give you the date of marriage. (never pay more than £7)

Hi everyone I have a marriage between a william wilson and a ann rice who were both born in ireland that i cannot find anywhere at all. It could have happened in ireland or england or even abroad. the marriage would have taken place between 1840-64. If any kind soul does have the time and comes across a marriage between the above names in any place at all please could you let me know because the likely hood is that they are probably mine. Thankyou Danny
