I have a lady in my tree called Lucy Ashton (born c1825) shown as daughter in law of William Ashton (born c 1776/1771). She has a daughter called Salome (born c1848) but I can't find the name of her husband who must have died between them getting married and 1851 where I can see her as widow on the census. Any ideas on how to find out the husband, I've tried eveything I can think of so far!

Ok, just seen above message. Lincs then. Here's one likely candidate for the family on the 1841 census: William Ashton 65 Martha Ashton 65 Samuel Ashton 15 Thomas Ashton 40 Living Spilsby, Lincs. So the father of Salome could either be Thomas, 40 or Samuel 15 (who may have been older than 15yrs as ages were rounded down). Athena

Definitely not daughter of Samuel as this is how I got myself into this pickle, I have all his family sorted! I had a look at Thomas and can't find much about him at all.
