Please could anybody tell me where I can get hold of a marriage certificate from. thanks Clare

if you live near to where the marriage took place the local register office, if not the GRO (general register office) you can do that on line.

If you can use the local one it is best, if not you need to find the GRO reference number for the cert, if you don't know how just ask

You could phone the local registry office who given enough details will send a copy for £7.00 or if they don't provide the service go to www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ you will need the correct reference from the indexes for this option.

Thanks Linda and Janet. I will try local registry office first and if i don't have any luck then will go on the website. Clare
