I know when an ancestor died as I have a copy of a church record (1846). Included on the sheet were the man's name, date of death, his age and where he had resided....I've never ordered death certificates in England. Do death certificates go that far back and if so, may I please ask what might be included on them?....Starting work soon, so I may not reply until my break....thank you for any help.

BMD started sept 1837, a death cert will give the cause of death, person who registered it, sometimes the maiden name & a place of death, if your lucky an address as well as date of birth Sandra

The only other info that you will get are cause of death and the name and address of the person who registered the death. Certificates can be obtained from Q3 1837 onwards. Sam x

Thank you all very much! If the information is written in, that would be a great help! Thank you. :) Can't wait to order them. (I'm now thinking it might help with one other ancestor.)
