I had my family on PAF downloaded from LDS. I now have a new laptop with vista and PAF won't download - can anyone suggest an alternative please. I'm happy to purchase if someone can recommend one. Thanks Maggie |

I can recommend Family Tree Maker. I paid about £25 for mine, but if you shop around you can get it cheaper now. |

Steady on. First check your firewall settings which may be blocking the download. Another alternative is if you still have your old PC it may well be possible to copy across the installation file. Use a memory stick. I don't know how you sign on (log on) to your computer but if you are not logged on as Administrator you will not be allowed to either download or install any programme. CB |

At TWR Computing on line you can get the Who do you think you are? version of family tree maker for about £12 including a months free sub to ancestry. |
