My personal experience is that the libraries win every time - not only maps but pictures and possibly history /gossip too. Google the town + library and email or phone. CB

Have a look at www*alangodfreymaps*co*uk..(change the * to dots).I don't know how country-wide these maps are but they are fab in details.They seem to date around 1901.They are very reasonably priced too! They also have an excellent service! Sandra. xxx

Hi Susan, Thank you for your reply. I live in Plymouth; but the maps I would like to view are of Prescot and Swinton - would it be possible for me to order these maps from my local records ofice? Regards Rachel

Hi! I would like to find maps/photos of what 3 Mill St, Prescot and 1, Bowling Green View, Swinton looked like in 1923 and 1928. Had looked on Google, but it only shows a map of these areas now. Any suggestions as to where to look or how to go about getting photos/information please? Regards Rachel.
