Hmm, well its a bit strange (strangways - LOL), so Id have thought it would have been in the papers. On the cert does it not say 'usual residence' and give that and his occupation. I dont think oldbailey online goes that recent does it? Check it out. Also the coroners report may not survive but a newspaper report on it may well do. Have you had a look at the Times Digital archives? |

Hi all Just received a death cert for Edward Williams. It says that he died on 28th May 1867 new gaol assize courts strangeways. He died of natural causes and there was an inquest held on the 29th May 1867. My query is is that was he in jail or was he just at the courts maybe a witness or something. How can I find out about it. any suggestions would be apreciated thanks Sylvie |
