Pallots is on ancestry - it is a list of SOME pre 1837 marriages and I think they also have some bapts. It can be very useful, particularly if you have a lot of London pre 1837 marriages. Ive found several on there and then gone over to London Signatures online and found the bond documents. About Pallot's Marriage Index for England: 1780 - 1837 Pallot's Index to Marriages covers all but two of the 103 parishes in the old City of London, England. Information available includes: spouses names, marriage date and parish of marriage. The dates span the time from 1780 to the onset of General Registration in 1837. The more than 1.5 million marriage entries come mainly from London and Middlesex, but also include entries from 2500 parishes in 38 counties outside of London-many not available in other sources. Also included are several records from counties in Wales

Not really - its just a list for the above parishes and not all of them - you enter the name of your ancestor and if you know the spouses name you can bring up the date and place of marriage. It can be very handy, particularly if you are blessed with unusual surnames and you have an idea of the date and place. See above for a better description. The entries were copied down in the 19th century - check out the image of the original listing as ancestry does make some transcript errors

Hi Heather, Yes, I saw that they are 'together' on Ancestry, so would they work a little like Familysearch?? Kathlyn
