You say he had ranks on his shoulder? could you discribe what he had and were, any Rank if known will help your search. Roy |

Thankyou for your replies, my John Fullard was from Staffordshire....so maybe he isn't the one. All I know is, he wasn't a private soldier, he was a sargeant or something higher than a soldier and he had ranks on his shoulder...and he died in WW1...I think it shall remain a mystery as I don't have enough information on him. Thanks for trying peeps! ! ! I shall keep looking for more clues. X X |

Hi Star, Thought i'd try the 'Soldiers died in the great war' database in case an age is given, but unfortunately it wasn't. It does however give his birth place, so i'm hoping that both your John's weren't born in the same place! Here's the entry: Name: FULLARD, John Regiment, Corps etc.: Grenadier Guards Battalion etc.: 4th Battalion. Last name: Fullard First name(s): John Initials: J Birthplace: Turton, Lancs Enlisted: Bolton Residence: Rank: GDSN. If you go to the National Archives site and put his name in search there's a downloadable copy of his medal card costs £3.50 .it may give you more details .You could try the Grenadier Guards too to see if they can give you more info on him. The info on the CWCG site has him as a Grenadier Guardsman |

Yes a 40 year old could be in WW My Hubbys grandad joinedup in 1915 aged 39 and served till 1919 |

Funny you should say Grenadier Guards...that's what that website said he was in...and it gives you a certificate and place of rest...but when you look at the details it gives no age...so I'm not sure...I will try any suggestions....Thankyou. |

I am truly stuck, I did find an entry that could be one of mine, but how and where can I check, as it gives no age, I have two that possibly could be mine, I have a John Fullard who would have been 40 when killed in WW1, or I have his Son also John Fullard who would have been killed at the age of 18 in WW1...which would be more likely, if it gives no age on this cwcg website??? Would a 40 year old have been in the WW1??? Is there any military websites or would the MOD be able to check??? STUCK! ! ! |
