was in the army in 1926 when he married , if he was posted abroad would his wife have gone with him do you think, or didnt wives go with their husbands then and is there any way to find out if he was posted abroad Thanks Hazel

I may be wrong, but I wouldn't have thought that she would go with him, unless he was high ranking. You could try to buy his service records (or his next of kin could) - that's if you know which regiment he was in and his service number (it may be on his marriage certificate). Kath. x

Hi Kathleen, i just got his marriage cert a couple of days ago it says he was a soldier and residing at Royal Herbert Hospital Woolwich Hazelx

I guess it depends on what you mean by posted abroad. Do you mean that he was posted somewhere for a while to be based somewhere or if he was sent there as part of a tour which could be weeks or months?
