Cert arrived 15th June ...Guess what? :-(( wrong one :-(( His father should have been John Ford. This ones father was William Ford :-((( Back to the drawing board!........ If anyone comes accross a family with a John as father and a son born c1853 named Henry...I'll kiss the postman for you!!!! and boy oh boy is he ugly! LOL Gerri x |

Oh you poor thing. I try not to think about the certificates while I'm waiting for them otherwise the time passes really slowly. Last 3 I ordered took about 5 working days, so now I just wait a while before I start stalking our poor postie. |

Sorry you are waiting so long must be sooo frustrating!! ive never ordered from the GRO before always ordered mine from Preston Lancs reg office and they have always been very quick, sometimes the day after ordering i get them. but i have to order from GRO now as they arent in the same county is there anything different i should be aware of? |

I ordered 4 on May 28, dispatch date June 4 and I received them yesterday in Vancouver. |

Mine seem to have been pretty quick...they have usually arrived the date of despatch if not a day earlier. We have had the same postie for a long time now....one day he asked what these large white envelopes were that I snatched from his hand. Needless to say he is doing his own family tree now LOL!! Ordered very immportant birth cert 2 weeks ago (Henry Ford 1853 Birmingham) Should have recieved it 11th June......still waiting......I have posties name and I hate him! (Bill)...He keeps walking past my house every day!!!......Am thinking of setting up trip wires.....Desperate!....I hate this hobby, dont you?.......Gerri .....PLEASE let Henrys father be John!? |
