Hi, don't know if anyone can help but is there any Web-sites that cover Railways in the late 1800s, particulary the L & S. W.R. Co. for Workers, Background info, photo's etc, Glad of any ideas, Thanks. Lynn. |

For background railway information try the National Railway Museum in York. They are digitising a lot of their archives. Anne |

Linda, Sadly, there's precious little in the way of surviving personnel records. The National Archives in Kew has a couple of files which might help - relating to station masters. The people at York are most helpful, please do post their latest news here when you've chatted with them. Regs Annie |

Thanks, yes that's what I was trying while waiting for any replies, or rather having another go as tried bfore posting, ashamed to say still useless at it even using ' & + s still can't find anything that's helpful, perhaps there just isn't anything. Will try York tho' Lynn, |

Yep, they do and so do Cyndis lists (google search finds dozens of sites) Havent checked them out - you have a go - just put in railway workers uk and google search The following rootsweb one, replace asterisks with full stops. http://freepages*genealogy*rootsweb*com/~sponholz/railroad*html |
