It depends where you want the child to appear? And I guess really whether it was the mother or father who was the one having the affair. If it was the father who was married, had an affair and the child stayed external to the family, then add a partner and put the child with them. If it was the mother who had the affair but she stayed with her partner and the child was brought up with her, then either and leave the partner off, or on. Its your tree, you do it how you want. I understood it to be a partner you were adding, not necessarily being married. I have my current partner on my tree and my ex partner who is the father of my child on my tree too, but havent married either of them. Rebecca |

Or, you could add the father as another spouse, then under place of marriage, just put 'not marrried'.? |

Hi all, i have atleast one person in my tree who was born as the result of an affair...........how do i add this person to my tree with out adding a marriage? I have found this very frustrating, any ideas anyone? |
