You Can view 2 trees at once....... by opening up your internet connection again and logon to GR a second time. You can then open up another persons tree whilst yours is open on your first logon...if you see what I mean. You can then switch between the 2 to verify any appropriate details. Teresa |

Thanks for that tip. It is a GREAT help for me. That way I can now compare and contrast someone's tree who writes to me asking if we are related. |

With a tree open;press control and n,on your keyboard and another window will open. To transfer a contacts tree in bulk, ask them for a gedcom which you can then merge on your own computer. |

Not sure about the viewing of two trees at once... As for copying parts of someone else's tree, if you mean on this site, you will have to enter each person one at a time. The other way is if you have some family tree software on your PC, like FTM. The other person can then send you a GEDCOM file which you then merge with your own. Sam x |

I don't think you can view two trees at once, because when you click to view another tree while viewing one already, it replaces the one you were already viewing on the same page. I also don't think you can copy chunks of a tree at once. you can copy a bunch of individuals onto the clipboard then go back to your own tree and add them one by one. Be sure to know which order they go in though as it can get confusing otherwise. |
