Don't open it! It is trying to sell you a program. If you have a new hard drive and it is working properly (which it should be if it's been loaded properly) you don't need it. Unless you know what you are doing - leave the registry alone. |

You need this: http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html It's a free programme. You scan your PC and it should find Winfix and then you can press a button to fix problems and it should get rid of it. Cheers, Horatia |

If you have a new hard drive have you installed anti virus and anti spy ware programmes? If not do so as soon as possible. Do not open the suggested programme (try googling it - most of the nasties are listed) Try deleting all your cookies - use Help - Cookies to find out how. Clive |

Install Popup Stopper Free edition from Panicware(.)com - it's safe and reliable and will capture most pop-ups. Also, assuming you use IE, turn on Pop-up stopper from your toolbar - Tools - Pop-up blocker. |

Internet Explorer's Pop-up Blocker is only available in version 7 - not in version 6 A Windows Update available in May is causing some people to have problems with it and some people are having to switch it off. In this case the problem is spyware that needs removing. A pop-up blocker alone is not sufficient. |

Pop-up blockers are unlikely to help as it is a Trojan Virus, and a nasty one at that. Google ''Winfix'' and there are several suggestions how to get rid, does seem a bit fiddly though. Good luck. |
